What are the strength and weaknesses of touch phones?

Touch screen is still a recent technology and some progress has to be made in order to be successful. Apple has it right and its touch screen technology is amazing but there is still progress to be made. If you want to write a long message, you can’t beat a real keyboard. Touch screen is intuitive for sure but again it’s not that simple. With a keyboard, you have many more options…

I have a blackberry with a real keyboard and I write a lot of messages so I guess touch screen is not for me. It’s a matter of preferences. Just make sure that you are aware of what you like and what you want when you buy a touch screen mobile phone. Enjoy!

Here are a few things to consider:
- What is the most important for you: Do you want to use it to make calls, send text messages, emails, pictures? Do you care about social networks (facebook, twitter)? Do you care about games or applications (Rocket Frenzy is a great one…)?

At the end of the day, it also depends on how much you are willing to spend. Phone manufacturers have been able to spend a lot of money on R&D because phone carriers have subsidized them massively.

It’s a matter of either you want to spend a lot of money on your phone or not….

A/ Put your iPhone on DFU mode (using Ziphone)
B/ In iTunes hold the shift key and click on ‘Restore’

C/ Pick the 1.1.1 firmware file on your computer (if you don’t have it, download 1.1.1 iphone firmware) and press ok
D/After about 4 minutes you will get an error (That’s OK)
E/ Close iTunes
F/ Download Iphuc
G/ Type each of these commands on their own line and hit enter for each:

cmd setenv auto-boot true

cmd saveenv

cmd fsboot

exit

H/ Wait a few seconds and your iPhone should be out of DFU mode and at the activation screen.

Put iPhone in DFU mode: With iTunes still open and the iPhone still connected, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen turns black. Once it does, let go of the Sleep/Wake button. Continue to hold the Home button until iTunes displays a pop up about the iPhone being in recovery mode. Click OK.

It is an easy way to make phone calls trhough VoIP.
